soul bond

It seems for some unknown reason, that the island has chosen to link two souls together. Through the soul bond, you and another wolf can begin to drift into each other’s dreams, and eventually even begin to feel one another’s pain. This ability requires two wolves, so you’ll need to choose another Svajone character to share it with - someone you’re happy to have stuck in your dreams, maybe forever...

TIER RATING

This is a tier one ability.

STAGES

  • STAGE 1: Beginning stage

Both wolves begin to have strange dreams about the other wolf. The dreams are mostly fragmented, soundless, difficult to interpret. At this stage, it’s not clear why, or that anything peculiar is at work at all.

  • STAGE 2: Intermediate

Acquired by completing three pieces of artwork or roleplay that relate directly to your ability
The dreams start to happen more often, and become more vivid. The two wolves are able to communicate for a short while, through their dreams.

  • STAGE 3: Master

Acquired by completing a further three pieces of artwork or roleplay that relate directly to your ability.

In addition to the above, the two wolves can now feel physical pain when the other feels it. Furthermore, the wolves can sometimes sense powerful emotions when they are felt by their bonded wolf - able to share their feeling of elation, sorrow, fear or fury. While this most often happens passively, in some dire situations, either wolf can actively direct their feelings toward their bonded in order to try to send them a message.

OVERALL RESTRICTIONS

This ability is completely passive. Neither user can activate it or decide when their bond will occur.

The soul bond is something both wolves have an inherent sense for - they are always distantly aware of their partner in the same way that they are always distantly aware of their own shadow. After a while, a soul bond will feel natural, to the point that if they were to lose their bond, they would feel as though something was missing.

If either bonded wolf comes into contact with a barren, their partner will no longer be able to sense them, and may become concerned or panic (even if they are not outwardly fond of their bond, not being able to sense their bonded will make them feel hollow).

The two wolves can only communicate in spoken words while sleeping (from stage 2 onward). They can only do so during natural sleep - not if one party has been knocked out/fainted/etc.

They cannot hear one another's thoughts.

If one of the wolves die, the ability is extinguished; it can only exist as long as both souls do. Much of this ability is left to your interpretation of how little/how often it occurs, but we ask that you are careful not to overuse it or overstep the boundaries of the freedom this ability gives.
