Combining study with magical energy, your wolf is able to heal wounds and soothe pains. Minor injuries can now be healed using spells and incantations, but the larger the wound, the more exhausting the process will be for the shaman. This ability is coveted by Kol and Tundes alike.

STAGES

  • STAGE 1: Beginning stage

Your wolf notices that they are able to soothe physical pains, such as aches, stomach upsets, tired paws and more, by way of physical contact.

 

  • STAGE 2: Intermediate

Acquired by completing three pieces of artwork or roleplay that relate directly to your ability
Your wolf begins to study further, combining their practical herbal knowledge with their growing magical ability. They are now able to apply topical salves to wounds which will heal cuts and scratches at a surprisingly quick rate, and their medicines can clear up minor illnesses within a matter of hours. Use of your ability is erratic, and uses a great deal of your physical and mental energy as you build your magical strength.

 

  • STAGE 3: Master

Acquired by completing a further three pieces of artwork or roleplay that relate directly to your ability.

In addition to the above, your wolf can now learn and speak magical incantations, which will allow them to mend larger and more serious wounds, including melding bones back into place. Patients find the process less painful than expected, thanks to your abilities, which seem to have pain-relieving qualities. Your wolf finds they can also reduce the appearance of scars, and that most fresh wounds attended to by their paws are unlikely to scar at all. But their increased power does not come without cost, as the larger the wound, the more effort and energy the shaman must expense to heal it.

 

OVERALL RESTRICTIONS

This ability cannot heal immediately life threatening illnesses or injury. While there is no comprehensive list, examples of such include: critical bone breaks such as the neck or spine, deep injuries that puncture a critical organ or open a major vein (e.g. wound to the heart, deep throat slash, disembowelment). If you’re ever unsure, please check with the Admin prior to creating canon content using this ability to heal a particular wound or sickness. 

 

This ability cannot bring a wolf back from death. The larger the wound or illness, the more exhausted the shaman will be afterward. You should play your cool-down periods appropriately to the level of healing performed.

 

This ability heals physical wounds and illnesses only and cannot be used to have any effect on another character’s emotional state or state of mind.

 

If the shaman performs healing on a pregnant mother, it will only affect the mother. The shaman cannot heal or strengthen an unborn pup.

 

This ability can work on both short term and long term illnesses. It can only be used on recent physical wounds - the shaman cannot heal, for example, a leg that was broken years ago, or make a blind wolf able to see again. They could, however, attend to a fresh eye wound and likely save the wolf’s sight where a normal healer would not have been able to.
