Your character develops a heightened resistance to the cold, and begins to notice that their paws can generate cold and frost, giving them the ability to freeze areas of water!

This is a tier two ability.

 

STAGES

​

  • STAGE 1: Beginning stage

Your wolf begins to notice that they don't seem to feel the cold much anymore, and that they can withstand much colder temperatures than they remember previously. They also don't seem to suffer in the heat either, their natural body temperature keeping them cool. Others find that they are cold to the touch, but not uncomfortably so. The power of their ability begins to manifest, and they find that slight frost seems to gather around areas of moisture they touch, such as small puddles or freshly rained-on grass.

 

  • STAGE 2: Intermediate

Acquired by completing three pieces of artwork or roleplay that relate directly to your ability
The strength of their ability grows, and in this stage, your character finds they are able to freeze deeper areas of water such as lakes and streams. The freeze always occurs below the paws and will gather where they step when they choose to activate it, giving them the ability to quite literally walk on water.

 

  • STAGE 3: Master

Acquired by completing a further three pieces of artwork or roleplay that relate directly to your ability.

In addition to the above, intent paired with focus will allow the user's touch to set a chill upon another wolf if they wish to. If touch is maintained for long enough while the ability is activated, they can send the target into hypothermia. Furthermore, the ability can now be used on small prey animals.

 

OVERALL RESTRICTIONS

This ability is an active ability, meaning that the user must choose when to use it. It cannot be used accidentally.

​

This ability is generated in the paws of the character. They must touch the target with any number of their paws in order to activate it.

​

Areas frosted or frozen by the Frostfoot will usually melt away within 30 minutes of creation, sometimes faster if the sun is high and/or the temperature is hot.

​

The ability cannot activate without moisture. There must be at least a small amount of moisture around the target or target area in order for the ability to be used. For example, in heavy rain, Frostfoot could in theory freeze the water on top of any object, such as a sodden flower or the bark of a wettened tree. As a result, Frostfoot is difficult to use in the warmer months.

 

The above does not include moisture in the air, that is not a loophole to have this ability activate anywhere and anytime.

Frostfoot cannot freeze any fast moving water, for example any river or brook in full flow, nor does the ability work on the ocean.

​

In all cases of use, the ability will only freeze the immediate area around the character's paws. They cannot freeze an entire lake or stream with one touch.

​

While Frostfoot allows the character a higher tolerance of cold temperatures, characters with this ability are not immune to things like frostbite. They can still die in extremely low temperatures.
