While your wolf doesn’t seem to have any innate ability of their own, it does appear that close proximity to them can amplify the strength, duration and range of the abilities of others - making your wolf a very handy wolf to have around, for anyone who seeks to strengthen their magic.


TIER RATING

This is a tier one ability.

 

STAGES

  • STAGE 1: Beginning stage

At this stage, your wolf can amplify the ability of any Tier 1 abilities. With your inexperience, you can only amplify their ability for a couple of minutes before your energy is drained, and usually it happens immediately as you come into contact with a magic-user. During stage 1, there is a cooldown period of three days between amplifications, and you must be very close to the user (within a few paces) in order to boost their ability.

 

  • STAGE 2: Intermediate

Acquired by completing three pieces of artwork or roleplay that relate directly to your ability
By stage 2, your wolf can now amplify the ability of any Tier 2 abilities, in addition to any Tier 1 abilities. You can amplify any one ability for up to 10 minutes before your energy is drained. There is no cooldown period between use of your amplification, but the more you use it, the weaker it will become each time. You can now also use your amplification across longer distances.

 

  • STAGE 3: Master

Acquired by completing a further three pieces of artwork or roleplay that relate directly to your ability.

In the final stage, your wolf can now amplify the ability of any Tier 3 abilities, in addition to Tier 1 and Tier 2. You can amplify one ability, at any time that you come into contact with it, for as long as you are in proximity. There no cooling period, but spending a long period of time around another magic user will prove particularly draining, and can cause fainting. The greater the ability you hope to amplify, the more the ability will drain (you could sustain a Tier 2 Stage 1 for much longer than a Tier 3 Stage 3, for example).

 

OVERALL RESTRICTIONS

This ability is completely passive. The user cannot choose to activate or deactivate it.

The user must be awake for their ability to activate. It does not tend to be effective if the user is sick or injured.

​

In all cases of amplification, the proximity of the user will allow the adjacent magic-user to temporarily reach the strength of their next stage: for example, a Stage 2 Shieldwolf, with the help of the Amplifier, could temporarily access advancements in their ability which are in Stage 3. If the magic-user is already Stage 3, the Amplifier strengthens and increases the power and range (where applicable) of the ability for the period of time that they are close by.

If the Amplifier masters their ability, they are then able amplify partner powers, following the same amplification standard as above. Their amplification only lasts the duration of the partner power and they too must stay in proximity of the partners.

​

The ability can only amplify one other ability at a time. Multiple Amplifiers cannot amplify each other.
